Best buy had the 75 for 1599, so does Amazon. that's already heavily discounted.

FWIW
Best Buy has the 75 qm9k $1499
And 85 qm9k $1999

Not sure how they compare to qm8l series for the sizable difference in price but worth noting

According to Grok:

"QM9K is the brighter, more accurate 2025 flagship. QM8L is the newer 2026 model with better color tech.

Both come in 75, 85, and 98 inches. QM9K hits up to 6,500 nits peak and has more dimming zones—around 6,000 versus the QM8L's 4,000. It also measures more color-accurate out of the box.

The QM8L counters with Super Quantum Dot panels for wider color coverage, four full HDMI 2.1 ports instead of two, lower input lag, and a newer processor. Measured HDR brightness is close, but the QM9K edges it in highlights.
QM9K is usually cheaper now that the L is out. If price is similar, take the QM8L for the ports and color. If the QM9K is a few hundred less, it's still excellent."

Hope that helps somone

Perhaps more of a question on the OS - we have an old TCL P607 (Roku) and a Hisense U6 something (Google). It's a couple years old at this point.

There are a couple of features from Google that we like over Roku - profiles and screen time for kids. Roku's simplicity is awesome though.

The issue is selecting a profile at power on, even after a restart, is not consistent. This means we are frequently having to add the passcode for the kids to use their accounts.

Screen time is also incredibly unreliable. During the summer, all on the Hisense, our 3rd grader could watch 3 hours straight of YouTube, have a screen break for an hour or so, and sneak back onto the TV despite a two hour limit.

Has this gotten better with newer versions of the OS? My understanding is we just missed some big OS update by one generation. It sounds like Roku TVs are kind of dead now outside of Roku made or pretty low end options.

To be fair, Apple has been awful with screen time for years. Supposedly the iOS/iPadOS will improve it and is supposed to become available this afternoon. We just prefer the ease of Roku, but would totally take profiles and working screen time over simplicity.
