The game needs to sell 6 million sales for Sony to keep the Marvel IP; I read those were the conditions, or else Marvel could strip Sony of it. With such a lackluster Metacritic score, it's gonna lag severely, BUT in addition to GTA 6 releasing, all the collective gamer's attention and mindshare will be sapped away until the end of the year. What does this mean?
Well to get back on the general topic, games like this - Pragmata, and Marvel's Wolverine will likely be on steep discount on Black Friday (GTA releases November 19th, a week earlier), and probably all throughout December. I would advise everyone to WAIT until that moment comes, where steeper discounts are more likely, because that's the only thing they can do to try and lure others away from the GTA 6 megaton. Any deals on games now are to catch you flat footed before the bigger sale later.
At the very LEAST, wait until Nov 1st for Amazon, or Oct 1st for Walmart, as they offer extended holiday return periods. If the game drops lower during this time, you could try to a pricematch, or do a return/rebuy at the lower price.
Community Reviews
PRAGMATA comes across as a short, inventive action game that stands out for its unique combat system and wholesome character arc. The free PlayStation Store demo and early reviews make it easier to judge, and the game has been described as pretty cool and awesome after playing it. Pricing looks strongest on digital storefronts, with Steam and Xbox Store both cited at $48 and the PS5 version noted as cheaper digitally in some states. The main caution is value, since the campaign is reported to run about 12 to 15 hours, so it feels better suited to players who want something fresh now than those waiting for deeper holiday discounts.
Players who want a short, inventive action game, because the combat system feels unique and the story is a compact 8-15 hours.
PS5 owners comparing digital storefront prices, because the game can be cheaper on PS Store or Xbox Store than this listing.
Gamers who like trying a title before buying, because a free demo lets the gameplay sell itself before committing.
Players who are happy waiting for a deeper discount, because the price is expected to fall further around Black Friday and December.
Players who want a long campaign, because the story runs only about 8-15 hours and can feel like a one-and-done rental.
Players who need a deep backlog killer, because the game is short enough that it may be finished and shelved quickly.
Players who are waiting for the lowest possible price, because steeper discounts are expected around Black Friday and into December.
