This meter is absolute overkill for most home users and even most professionals. At the same time, if you need the extra features and have to (or prefer to go) with Fluke, then the price is excellent for this meter.

For most home users, there are a lot of options for about 1/4 the price which don't compromise on safety and provide a more relevant feature set without the extras. If you are ONLY doing low voltage stuff like battery powered electronics, then you can find a bunch of options at roughly 1/10 the price.

I have one of these at work. If you can find the Bluetooth adapter for it, it's a great piece of kit. I can monitor what equipment is doing behind the plane of a guard using my cellphone. Also The logging function is a good bonus for automation/mechatronic techs.

This is a great price, however I HATE this meter (worse viewing angle, slower auto range, slower boot up, eats batteries vs previous models). It's a definite downgrade from the previous 187-189 meter. That said this is the top of the line beast of a meter with great accuracy and precision. if you need this, get it now.

What's that thin circular looking thingy that it comes with? 🤪/s Seriously though, we've got to be getting close to the point where it's more economical to include a USB drive than a CD, don't we? Maybe not, considering memory prices these days, but who even has a CD ROM drive anymore?

289 user, all the complaints are valid. I hit the power button as soon as i pick it up and boom ready to roll. grab two, one set on volts one on current and boom peak lazybones don't have to adjust anything just ready to rock. still my go to meters. Good price for a new one. If you're willing to spend it you will, if you aren't you'll find reasons not to. All valid. Never been a better time to get a lot of features in a low price option.

I have the $10 one from harbor freight which I bought on sale for $3. If you's rich like I's rich, you'll buy two for total consideration $6. Works plenty good

Fluke is the SNAP-ON of multimeters. LMAO Used a Fluke at work and also a cheap $10 meter from Temu to compare the same exact circuits. Both were almost identical. Fluke might have been more precise but by a mere 1/100th of a volt. In all honesty, their true RMS claims are not worth the huge premiums unless you need that sort of extreme precision.

Meters like this are far less about the out-of-the-box accuracy than they are about reliability, ability to be calibrated/adjusted/repaired by third-party cal labs, and their independently verified safety ratings/capabilities. Your $10 meter, while great for home work has none of that and if none of that matters for you then you also aren't Fluke's target market.

There's also the name recognition aspect. Much like the old and now antiquated adage "Nobody gets fired for buying IBM", the similar is true for Fluke. If you have a Fluke (or a meter from one of a handful of other similarly expensive companies) that's in valid calibration, then nobody blames you for the brand of meter you chose when something goes wrong. They just chock it up to being a one-off or somebody else's failure.

As I mentioned above, for home users, there are loads of other meters at a fraction of the price that are a better overall choice than this (which one and how much they cost depends on the usage scenario).

Brymen DMMs are just as reliable and easy to calibrate. Benz and BMW are $ pits as they age but people still pay a premium for the name.
