Actually own a few of these. The material will be what you expect a semi-transparent white screen that will let a good portion of your projector light through.

Any projector with 2,000 lumen or more should be plenty for a great image at night, I'm going to keep in mind a lot of your cheaper projectors with only a couple hundred lumens or less I'm going to be useless at this size with the screen material that was used. And what I mean by "great image", I absolutely don't mean anything close to what you would get inside the home to even a white wall, but it won't be so dim your irritated.

I've got experience with a 140" screen. It's a white wall with a grain of presumably 1.0. I would be worried about picture quality of you use the cheap "LED" protectors and want to get the full screen size. We started with a Benq W1060. It was rated at 2000 lumens but I suspect it was more like 1000 when in movie mode. Many color wheel DLP projectors have a white segment in the color wheel. It boost brightness and helps when using the projector to show text in a conference room. It doesn't deliver a good movie experience.

We replaced the W1060 with a Panasonic Solidshine hybrid model that delivers 2500 lumens (rated at 3500) even when in a decent color mode. It's finally bright enough to really use the big screen size.

So if you want to use this for backyard fun, I would suggest getting a projector with a real lamp and at least an honest 1000 lumens in color mode (not just high brightness mode)

Many of the cheap, LED protectors that use a single LCD panel will probably struggle to deliver enough light when you are trying to project at that size. That isn't saying those projectors always look bad on a smaller screen, just that they aren't likely bright enough.

BTW, with kids, outdoor movie night is a lot of fun.

Just an heads up- an Amazon review (from German translated to English) says that it requires the motor to continuously blow air into it, and the noise can be distracting.

BTW, something that is crappy about the listing is the "15ft" screen claim. That is the diagonal of the whole thing, not the visible screen area. The screen is about 120". That's still pretty big for a personal outdoor screen but a lot smaller than the 180" diagonal that 15' would suggest.
