So far my TP-Link 8-port 2.5gb and my off-brand 6-port (4x2.5gb Ethernet & 2x10gb sfp+ for about $25) have been my best units. I tried a 7-port version (5x2.5gb & 2x10gb) of the same off-brand but it was defective, so test them when you get them.
I think the TP-link is worth the extra $10 IMO if you don't need 10gb sfp+ ports. Otherwise, based on my (admittedly limited) experience with the odd 7-port unit, I'd stick to the common/standard port configurations you'll see on STH's reviews for the "off-brand" switches. They follow a pattern I'll try to explain below.
They deploy a realtek chip for the 6-port (4x2.5gb ethernet + 2x10gb sfp+) configuration, and essentially daisy chain these to get more ports. So, the next up, the 10-port unit (8x2.5gb + 2x10gb), is really just two realtek chips in the box that talk to each other through one of their 10gb channels. This is why it's not a perfect doubling of the 6-port into a 12-port, one 10gb channel from each realtek chip is linked making the switch a 10-port. It still doubles the 2.5gb ports (4 go to each realtek chip) but keeps the available 10gb sfp+ ports at two (only one to each realtek chip). Think of it as if you had 2x separate 6-port units connected to each other via a cable to one of their 10gb ports; only they do this on the circuit board. I'm not sure what port configuration they stop doing this, but I thought it was a creative & simple way to create switches with more ports using the same parts (economies of scale).
Interestingly enough, some TVs allow for networking through USB, so a USB/Ethernet adapter is at times a higher speed option. Something to google if you are trying to get higher networking speeds to your tv.
