I've bought a couple different brands of caddy off amazon. they all rusted before 6 months. Some state like "high quality" and some I've seen say 304 stainless steel which is a straight up lie. They're all the same low quality material. Even if it's like $30 or more than that, it's not of "higher quality", even if stated so. like the range of $10-$30 that I've used before. They're all the same steel and rust at probably around 6months or less. 304 with a type of coating should at least last a year, and that's a minimum.

Outside of the rusting, I do think these are useful, at 10 bucks. Adhesive is good and it's stable. Good for use. BUT the quality of material just isn't what they say it is and will rust within a 6months to a year. Literal bottom of the barrel material metal is used for "rust-resistance." I wouldn't exactly say these stainless steel metal they use is "rustproof" or of "high quality" as stated. Only protection for the rusting is the coating they put on the metal. At least that's from my experience.

Community Reviews

This six piece shower caddy set is best known for strong adhesive mounting and handy storage beyond the shower. The racks stay put when the surface is cleaned well and the placement avoids constant direct water, and they have been used for bath items, cleaning supplies, keys, mail, and spices. Long term results are mixed on rust, with some sets holding up for a year or more and others rusting in spots within months. Removing the adhesive can be a pain, so careful placement matters.

Common Questions (3)

  • It can rust in wet bathrooms, sometimes within months, but several long-term uses report no rust after a year or more. Keeping it out of direct shower spray and heavy humidity helps it last longer.

  • The adhesive is very strong and can hold the caddy securely when the surface is cleaned and the pad is allowed to cure. Removal can be difficult, and some users describe the adhesive as a major pain to take off.

  • Yes. It has been used for dishwashing brushes and sponges, an entryway key and mail holder, spice racks, and even mounting a cable modem router, so it works well anywhere you need adhesive wall storage.

Interesting, it claims it is stainless steel and the reviews don't seem to mention rust often. Was it the same one?

Edit: yes I am aware that stainless does not mean rust proof, only rust resistant.

I bought this same deal on March 3rd 2025 so basically a year and half ago. I can confirm that it's still in the box under my bathroom cabinet so can't comment on the quality

I have this same set and I can say it is very well made and hasn't rusted at all and definitely stays put, so make sure you have it exactly where you want it.

I bought this in two colors in the last year. The one in restroom around condensation unsticks frequently but the one in the hallway closet we use for cleaning supplies, rags, brooms holds up well, seemingly due to lack of humidity.

Stainless steel is a range of quality (much like leather) and despite the name, stainless doesn't mean it won't rust, just less likely to than bare steel.

I've had mine for over 2 years and yes, it also rusted in some spots.
However given the price, who cares?
After 2 years it still works fine -- I could replace it if the rust bothered me that much, but I'm content continuing using it (with a bit of caution I guess).

I would steer clear of these. Removing the adhesive is a royal pain in the ass.

Thank you. Finally a useful response. It almost seems like these would be better made out of plastic for longevity in a wet environment.
