Consider buying prodiamine as a pre emergent. But if you do decide to use preen, extended control might be a better choice than this regular form. I could see preen better for flower beds

Do these expire? If not 16lb looks cheaper otherwise price is similar to regular price of larger bags. If you're lucky to have club stores near you this is more expensive still.

I agree with this. I am not sure if it is rodent and/or bird doodoo but it seems like I only get a month or two of weed prevention and weeds start growing in a random treated location. I didn't feel like it was worth the money even on sale.
