Diablo 5 has been announced for 2029.
There are 2 DLCs, not included here, and they are fairly important for end game. Its become a pay wall.
Normally $40, but currently on sale for $30.

This game sucks for players without the 2 expansion packs. The players with the 2 expansion packs are overpowered by like 500 percent compared to the characters with only the standard edition. Which means multiplayer mode is a joke for the people who had only the standard version. Not recommended.

D4 is a loot simulator. You won't have enough storage for a single character, and you can make 14.
Getting the hatred DLC will give you the cube. Which allows for you to take literally any piece of loot, and turn it into what you want, assuming you have the materials and gold for it.
This might help with storage, if you don't horde.
In the end though, the field of dreams made of piles of loot eventually turns into a junk yard. You might find a 1% gain in the junk yard if you are lucky and look long enough.

Personally I prefer D3 over D4. D4 is a lot more like an MMO than D3(more like a single player game with optional co-op).

If you have free trials of PC Game Pass you can try Diablo 4 on Game Pass for free. I played through the campaign and moved on to other games.

As someone who literally never played this game but heard about it ad nauseam in high school, I clicked on this thread to buy it, but then read several posts, and now there's no way in hell I'm spending my money on this. Off to play some good ol' Age of Empires II, my friends.

There DLC are not $70 each. The base game is $12 and the two expansions are $29.99 for both.

So to get the base game and all content right now it's $42.

PoE2 is about to end Beta in December. Then it will be free (Costs $30 right now in beta). It's a superior game in every way. D4 isn't a bad way to spend your time for $12 until then though.
