Slickdeals has taught me that any light I buy at this price should illuminate the Grand Canyon.

This is a phenomenal flashlight! But at the time I was in the market, the ArkPro Ultra was only $30 mores and does so much more as a wedge that it was a no-brainer for me. The Baton Ultra is definitely a bit brighter though.

Sincere question, is this just priced more than a comparable sofirn because it is positioned as a premium brand?

For me the Arkfeld Ultra w/gift for $57 from Olight was the real deal, love the flat light shape.

Will olight come up with a better deal this coming 9/19? They're supposed to release something on that date and they usually do sale on other stuff on their website.

Olight makes great lights and I have plenty of them but have been caught away from the house when they've needed charging and since they have non-standard USB-C charging is a real pain point for actual in the field usage if you ever need to recharge your light.

This light is not a bad choice, but this is not a screaming deal. You may also consider other flash lights of similar size:
At ~$30 the Wurkkos FC11, which has lower peak brightness but similar sustained
At $46 the Thrunite TC15, which is throwier and slightly brighter beam
At $55 the Nitecore EDC31, which is a bit throwier, with higher peak brightness
At $64 the Wurkkos T1, which is larger due to its higher capacity 21700 cell, with much higher peak and sustained brightness
At $70 the Acebeam EC20, which is floodier and brighter
Not on Amazon, but "intl-outdoor" (Emisar/Noctigon) and Fireflies both have EXCELLENT high-output lights with better color rendering if you're willing to wait for shipping from China.

Not a ton, but the Ultra has a tighter beam, their EIP1 LED (claiming it's brighter/purer white), slightly more brightness, and their "OAL" aluminum alloy which is more durable.

I've been holding out for an ArkPro Ultra deal, for one main reason: it also has USB-C charging (like this BatonUltra) so if you lose the proprietary charger you're not screwed.
