I keep seeing these Tapo posts. I previously had Wyze cameras, and they were ok. I liked the cost and sd recording and they worked consistently enough for me.

This seems to be an upgrade and I like the solar panel option and at this price I feel like it's a decent entry point so giving it a shot but anyone have experience with these cameras and suggest a better starter option?

I went from Wyze to tapo and have no regrets. I have one outdoor ptz and several indoor regular cams plus several plugs. They all work very well. I can't comment on anything solar powered but it's worth noting that Kasa is fully compatible with the Tapo system.

I have several solar powered tapo cameras, and they're solid. One I've had in the brutal southern California desert heat for years.

After several months of initial use, the TAPO App will have ADs.

Went from Wyze to this, totally worth it. My solar cam is in the shade it's never dropped below 100%

TP-Link sales banners and maybe cloud subscription information... and they are not intrusive. If you're seeing Temu ads that's a you problem.
