Long story short - first time an authorized release from the negatives but WB went overboard processing the Technicolor animation. Unfortunately I doubt they'll ever tackle these shorts again on home video.

Yes, it's a travesty. After decades of fans crying foul, I just don't understand why on Earth the studios continue to DNR/filter/sharpen/etcetera releases to death. Films/movies/TV/animation shot or created on film should look like film! For crying out loud. Its infuriating. Film is gorgeous. Digital is usually hideous.
