This is an OK projector for a very low price. Good for kids movie nights, possible outdoor theaters etc.

200lm (honest rating)
1080p - actual resolution, not "accepts but is actually low resolution"
Auto focus/keystone
Plays from USB or HDMI. No smart features
Single LCD with LED light source... like virtually all of these low cost projectors.

I bought one of these used a while back to check it out. My honest assessment is if you are looking for a cheap projector to setup a fun movie night experience for the kids or friends outside this is ok. It's not great but it's quite usable. The speakers are limited but I've typically used other speakers when setting up a make shift theater. In the old days it was 2.1 computer speakers but those are no longer common.

This makes big screen claims but honestly, I think 80 inches or less is probably best. It also has a bit more screen door than I would like. However, at $36 how mad can I be? The only other thing I don't like is it uses a 24V wall wart. That means you probably can't do a DIY USB-C power cord setup. I have a different Miroir projector that runs on 12V so I've set it up to run of a charger pack. Anyway, for this price it's fun to play with.

How does this compare to Magcubic HY300 Pro+? On Aliexpress for $34. Can't figure out how to link.

Per the specs I found the HY300 is a bit brighter, has lower resolution (though I would rather have a good 720 projector vs a poor 1080), lower claimed contrast (but that might just be the more honest one).

Honestly, I can say what I think of the M416 since I have one. Not sure about the other since I've never used it.

How big a screen are you planning on? Projector Central's calculator suggests 200lm is ideal for screens from 36" min to 65" maximum. Is that enough for a fun projector? Perhaps. My first portable "screen" was a 3'x5' foam core panel. This would be bright enough for that as well as my first pull out projector screen which I think was about 50" wide.
It is limited but it's also $36.

Lower resolution on these is actually a detriment if you ever have to use software scaling.

The ones that accept 4K input with 1080P native output start noticeably suffering at 80% scale.

For a 720P native, that dropoff starts around 90%.

If you're strictly watching TV or movies without subtitles, it's tolerable. But anything with fonts will make you want to throw it out.

I wouldn't be too worried about 4k given these are low cost projectors. However, you are correct in that if someone uses the digital keystone/zoom controls on these projectors, the lower resolution models will suffer more for it. As much as possible I try to set things up so I don't use any digital keystone type corrections.
All else equal, go for more resolution. However, if things aren't equal don't assume the higher resolution will result in a better picture overall.
Don't take that to mean know how r Miroir projector will look vs the other one.

Still, we are taking about a $36 projector.

A majority of people will find they don't have the throw distance for a full, uncorrected picture that's in focus for a 100-120" screen size.

The digital cheats instantly make a bad projector worse.

This one has a 1.33 throw radio (per the Amazon images, 45" diagonal at 5ft).
This is often an issue with low cost projectors. You are stuck with fixed zoom, fixed optical keystone etc. However if you understand that going in and work around the projector's limitations that's not to bad.

I mean for about $200 more you can get a used Panasonic PT-RZ370U with an honest 3000+ lumens, lens shift, optical zoom, fast on/off and a weight under 30lb... but not much under. It's a great projector and offers a lot of placement flexibility. But it's not a $36 projector for a low cost kid theater in the back yard.

Our first movie projector had low lumens so lights out if you're going to see anything at all. We learned from that and bought a better model later on. I would love a high end projector but that's truly a bridge too far and I would most likely invest in a bigger tv instead. However this is a decent price for a children's projector and for the money you should get at least a couple of years use out of it.
