I saw this and the corresponding case while helping my septuagenarian mom shop for a new phone. $100+ (at normal price) for a simple silicone phone case and strap is highway robbery, but the concept is perfect for her. Turns out there are a number of inexpensive third party cases with crossbody straps, and most of them can be clipped onto and off of the case without having to remove it from the phone—unlike this one.

I use it on my Leica d lux 8. Nice compact strap vs the peak design strap I had before.

I used one while trekking a 100 yard jetty so I don't drop my phone in the sea or between the rocks when I want to check my phone or take pictures / videos

Eh, yes and no. Like I said, there are lots of inexpensive cases to choose from outside of the Apple store. And while her previous iPhone has enough battery degradation that it had become a nuisance to her, it's otherwise still perfectly good after 5+ years of heavy use. I've never yet achieved that kind of longevity from an Android device. 🤷🏼 ♂️

Super popular in Japan for sure. Wife would have gotten one, but didn't realize you also need a compatible case. In Japan, they sell it for $5-$10, which includes a little plastic piece that sits between the case and your phone. Basically a phone purse if you have a magsafe wallet or Apple Pay.
