Klein telecom tools are usually well made, very durable, and excellent quality. This product appears to be just that as well. The pass-through conductor wiring design is new to me and may not be for everyone. But it looks like a great solution especially with included 50-pack of the pass-through type "mod-end" connectors.

I've been using this tool for several years and it's worked great. Compact enough top fit in your pocket and easy to use. The one small complaint is the main cutting blade (not the pass-thru blade) doesn't always create a clean cut when getting all of the wires to length.

If you plan on using this frequently I would recommend also buying a replacement blade set part # VDV999-076 for when they eventually get dull.

Not questioning the quality or Klein tools, but I got a similar one of these on AliExpress for $5 maybe. It's done the job well with limited use

+1 to this review. I've had one for some light work around the house and it's worked great, apart from the odd unclean cut which isn't the end of the world Smilie

You can get cheaper ones, but this is reliable and works so well. I've wired my entire house with it and it made the process so much simpler. Positively paid for itself in reduced stress and time saved.

This is a great tool. If it's not working for your cables make sure you have good connectors, have the wires in the right order, and have the connector in as far as is possible. Here's a good connector:

Good plenum (flame retardant, legal for wiring within walls) cable:

I'm a low voltage contractor so finally a deal I can chime in on. ....yep that's a crimper. K I chimed in.

There's nothing wrong with this tool, it's professional, will last you years even as a pro (several lifetimes as a home user).

I will also say there is nothing wrong with the $20 variations of passthrough crimpers you can get from other brands.

In general though (in the pro world)...anything with plugs is usually getting a factory made patch-cord. Anything that is a long run is getting keystone jacks put on either end.

It's a good skill to have and is not difficult to learn so at the very least check out a YouTube on it.
