Community Reviews
UGREEN HomeAgent is pitched as a local AI home automation hub with NAS features, aimed at people who want smart home control without relying on cloud services. The appeal is the Home Assistant style flexibility, with room to add security tools like Frigate and expand into lights, shades, garage doors, and thermostats. The main pushback is price and value, since the hardware is seen as expensive versus building a setup from an old PC, Raspberry Pi, or a DIY homelab. Support also appears uneven for some devices, and reliability concerns linger from past UGREEN hardware issues.
Common Questions (4)
The listed pricing is widely seen as hard to justify for the hardware, especially the top model at $10,000 when a Jetson Thor is cited at about $5,500. The appeal is the promise of local AI and home automation without cloud dependence, but the value depends on whether that bundled convenience is worth more than building a Home Assistant or homelab setup yourself.
It can cover some of the same home automation use cases, but Home Assistant on an old PC or Raspberry Pi is a cheaper alternative. For users who want more control, Home Assistant plus add-ons like ESPHome or Frigate can replicate much of the functionality with more setup work.
No, not everything is supported out of the box. Garage doors can be added with kits or manual methods, and thermostats just need to support Home Assistant integration, but some devices such as certain garage doors and AC thermostats were not supported in earlier attempts.
Yes, the security side can be expanded with Frigate alongside Home Assistant. That setup is commonly used for camera-based detection and has plenty of guides, tutorials, and walkthroughs available online.

Yeah this seems a bit crazy to me, like someone else said, no idea why this price makes sense given the hardware. The midrange one, you would be much better off just off the top of my head grabbing a Framework desktop with Halo Strix at 128 Gbs.

That is a valid question. My experience with them, mainly. That is why I used "I" in my statement.
UGreen's Power Station portable power banks were promoted on here a while back.
I bought 5 of them. Since that time I've had different issues with all of them. I've only managed to get one replaced after getting bounced to different emails at Ugreen. Sending videos, and jumping though other hoops. But, the fact they all have defects, that is engineering and quality control.
When it comes to these Ugreen Power Stations, others on here have been vocal with the issues they have their theirs.
