GOAT dewalt light. Though this price hits quite often. Its an OK deal, I bought one of these at $32, and another one at $38 or something last year, but haven't seen it drop below $40 in some time so I guess this price is OK for a sale

If you look at the price history this hasn't fluctuated more than a few dollars the last 4-5 months. This isn't slick at all.

Nice to be able to use a battery on it but 1000 max lumens and can only throw light in a single direction. I just grabbed a 5000 lumen omnidirectional lantern at Costco for $30 for my worksite

$45 for a light is a little ridiculous. I'd be interested at about $30.

I wouldn't call this "one direction" per se... It is an AWESOME flood, and throws light at LEAST 180 degrees. It isnt supposed to replace a Coleman gas lantern and do 360 degree lighting... This is for working on cars and projects where you need light, and this does a great job of flooding an area with equal light.

What's the light quality like? Thinking of using this for some extra lighting for photography purposes

Ohhhh.... As a photog myself, I would not use this for that purpose. I don't know if you'd have issues with flicker or anything, and while this is a good flood light for working on cars or in your basement, its not NEARLY as good as a simple speedlite. Or a proper photography flood LED panel meant for images. I would NOT buy this for photography.

Bought into the hype and got one. It's good, but I find myself grabbing the husky branded one that has a magnetic base or can screw onto a tripod far more often when doing car work. I left construction ages ago, but this would probably be great for that type of work

don't forget the dewalt one has a metal J hook coming out of the top! it pops into the frame so many people don't even REALIZE they have a built in hook on it... But yes, no magnet on it (with battery that would be too heavy)

Have this and it's great if you have batteries already. Under $50 is a good deal, $40 or less is smoking deal.

It's not high CRI or perfect, but it's overall great and super useful.

This has to be my family's favorite utility light. I already own 2 of them, and surely wouldn't be ashamed to buy another.

Newer version does make the hinge a bit stiffer as well so it doesn't flop around. Bought one from the last FP deal and noticed Dewalt improved on it.
