It dawned on my this evening that some of the younger SDer's may not be familiar with the Dell Refurnished 'scam'. People think in terms of a HP refurbished machine, bought at Costco and returned and resold as 'refurbished', nearly new. Not these machines. These laptops have been on a business lease for three years and are used daily, weekly, who knows? They are fully depreciated by the leasing company and returned at some nominal cost to a company (maybe not even Dell) - who basically cleans them and resells them for an enormous profit. I know the scam, accept the risk and look for the deals. But for Dell (or FedEx rumored?) to call these machines 'refurbished' is really false advertising. It's more like buying a used car from Hertz or Avis. Good luck to all, including me!

As per my understanding, it is ddr5 for P series Intel 13th gen CPUs and ddr4 for U series CPUs.

Got Serial Numbers in the confirmation email, it's ddr5 for 1350p.

Nope. My laptop has an i5-1335U - it's DDR5. I think it just depends on the manufacturer

They're still there. Tbh eBay has similar prices. I just purchased a 16gb 5440 for $319 pretax. It didn't come with a USB power cable but those are cheap and I have a ton laying around.

It was the DDR5 32GB models that were the real deal, and those went pretty quickly. You were essentially getting the entire machine for the cost of the RAM (at the current AI inflated prices).

You usually get what you pay for with eBay batteries. The OEMs are expensive but are far higher quality.

No Dell Latitude or especially Precisions have had good battery life. But they are exceedingly durable. My 11 year old outlet Latitude is still used daily.

And my refurbished Precision is 8th generation Intel and still works fine.

They will only be retired when Windows 10 is finally killed off for good.
