That said, understand these are used corporate laptops at the end of their replacement cycle. Actual CPU is still pretty good; they can't play anything intensive gamewise but will run casual stuff fine. Build quality is good, screens are mediocre, battery probably doesn't hold a full charge. However, they're designed to be serviced - so if you're comfortable opening one up and especially replacing the battery it can be a great basic machine.
I did not receive an email after the one that said it was processing.
They are about $325 on ebay.
I've been getting the 16" versions (5540) (i5, 16GB, 256GB) for $250 to $300 between ebay and goodwill auctions (for work).
Sometimes they will have Iris (facial recognition Windows Hello) webcams. If the ebay listing says no power cord included the generic 65w USB-C chargers are $8 on Amazon.
Some listings will show the BIOS information screen which shows battery health as excellent, good, bad, etc...

I ordered a HP refurbished with 2 X 8G DDR5, 512G ssd for $350. As I checked the RAM, the 8G is Samsung M425R1GB4PB0-CWMOL. Each of the 8G is $150 each in Amazon. Just the two 8G is $300.
The ssd is SKHynix BC711 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 2230. It is $154 at Amazon.

The whole laptop is $350. It does not make sense to have parts more expensive than the whole laptop.
Caveat is that there are no returns. Check the shipping quote. They add "handling" but it's bubble wrapped.
BIOS info shows excellent battery health and 2x 8GB DDR4 3200. In general I run CrystalDisk Info on them and hardly get any below 85% life on the SSD. No Charger but 65w USB-C laptop chargers are $8 on Amazon.

For Ebay I usually buy from regencytechnologies because they pay for free return shipping. They are one of the largest recyclers. They don't have any now but lots of other listings but it takes time going through all the different conditions of them.

Everyone should check the battery first thing. To test your laptop's battery life, open Command Prompt and type powercfg /batteryreport.
Did you check how many hours are on the SSD? Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I will report the condition when I receive it.
