fwiw, many years ago I owned one of their entry level models, the A2.4 which was a 2-way MTM with a planar tweeter. I used it as a mismatched center with a number of different bookshelf pairs. It always held its own, lots of clarity, dynamics and zero brightness/fatigue. On a whim, I even tried it in a mismatched stereo pair which surprisingly turned out well as soon as I used the balance controls to level match them...also more than held its own. Ergo, I would find it hard to resist these 753s at this price if I was in the market for big towers for a big room. The main disadvantage is that the "matching" 752 center seems to have gone extinct for good, so you'd have to be ok going with an other-brand center if buying for a surround system.
