Insane price for a bootleg iPad. After Kindle discontinued downloads to older kindles I discontinued my interest in the brand. The move came out of left field and doesn't make sense. Why stop allowing downloads of content that I purchased to my kindle? Amazon has a habit of releasing expensive tech and discontinued it and I'm over it at this point. I was really invested in Alexa based products but I have items that now are not fully functional or have been discontinued. What a waste of money!

Isn't this an E-ink tablet? It's a different type of device compared to regular tablets like iPad.

you can use calibre to build your library and transfer any books you have compatible file types for over wire. i still use a kindle dxg regularly

So will it allow me to transfer books that I recently bought to my older kindle? I was blindsided by the change. I only found o it after I recently purchased an ebook.

Turns out it's the same program I downloaded months ago. I must have downloaded it from another website. My issue is that there's some books I purchased from Amazon in e format but I can not get them to my old kindle. I tried all the suggestions online that I could find to no avail. I may be doing this wrong. There were some plugins I was told to download. I did that but still don't get the book to my kindle.

yes! you have to dig thru amazon's website a bit to find your digital content management page, but there you can download all your books in several formats (usually) Smilie

make sure the cable youre using is capable of data transfer, some only provide power. and some file types just cant be read by the device, .mobi is probably going to be the best bet. ill need to know what your model of kindle is to help more

Yes that was an early issue and I did find one. The issue for me I think is I purchased this book directly from Kindle and so I think that it has DRM so it won't allow me to do it. I tried all the different exdrm and plugins that I found and it didn't work.

Kindle Paperwhite (1st Generation), which is a 5th Generation standard Kindle released in October 2012

I don't see where I can download it in several formats. I just see how I can deliver it to different devices and and my old kindle is grayed out and unsupported. I have several other devices listed. I don't see format changes.

Was it one of the ones that they said they would discontinued a few months ago? I think Kindles from 2012 and before were shut out from receiving new downloads and cannot connect to the network. The goal is to get people to buy new ones.
