In my area, technically if you mount it to some sort of structure (shed, patio, gazebo...) even if it's not connect to the grid or gets convert to AC, you still need permits and inspection. However the gray area is if i ground mount it, then i don't need inspection if i just want to use it to charge a portable power station or something
