"For such customers who purchase a discounted Device from the Boost Mobile website only, if you do not maintain Service in good standing on the activated line for a minimum of three months then we will automatically collect from your payment method on file the full suggested retail price, less any discounted price already paid"
If don't pay for 3 months of service they will charge you full MSRP for discounted phone. And if want it unlocked full 12 months of active service required.

Yeah, I thought it was obvious that you would need to keep service on the device. But you can downgrade to a lower tier service after the initial two months.

Boost Rep says You have to complete 12 full billing cycles from the purchase date before the system will show you other plan change options now. If want cheaper plan would have to cancel and order new line on 4th month.

Well apparently the official policy from boost is:
Minimum Service Duration: If you buy a discounted promotional phone, you must keep the service active in good standing for a minimum of 3 months. Canceling early or switching to an unqualified plan triggers an automatic charge for the full suggested retail price minus any discount already paid.
The camera on the 10a is definitely weaker than other non "a" pixels. My five year old Samsung S21 had better cameras. The rest of the 10a is pretty good.

I think it's just personal preference on the post-processing. The 10a main lens is the same as the 9a, and my 9a takes way better pics than my S25.

Yeah, but unlock policy sort of matters more. If they won't unlock until 12 mo then the real minimum I must pay for is 12 mo.
I also asked their chatbot about downgrades:
> If your phone was purchased with a subsidized discount, downgrades are restricted for a period.
> Activations on or after 01/01/2026 cannot downgrade for 12 months.
So the price of the phone + the year of service is $770, higher than just buying an unlocked version for me.
The math doesn't work out for me because I only pay $8/month for service right now. But if you're already paying $60/month for your service, this seems like a good deal.
All of them eventually unlock after 60/90/365 days depending on your contract/provider. BEWARE VERIZON and their LOCKED BOOTLOADERS. My Pixel 10 unlocked after 60 days on that last 'new MINT customers' deal a few months ago. Had to buy a years service, but worth it.
