This bundle stands out as a midrange Radeon RX 9070 GRE deal that adds Onimusha and lands below other current pricing. The card is framed as a solid 1440p rasterization upgrade, with performance estimates ranging from about 20 percent to 40 percent over an RX 6800, and the game code helps the value feel better than a bare card. The main drawback is 12GB of memory, which can be limiting for some games and makes it a sideways move if you already have an RX 6800 and need more VRAM. It looks strongest for a straightforward GPU upgrade when the bundle price matters more than extra memory.

I am coming from a 3600 cpu and 3060 gpu. Seems worth it but was debating about holding off til black friday... thoughts?
TLDR Buy it now.

If everything was normal i would say wait for black friday, but because the whole PC part situation is so unpredictable, I'd say buy it and dont think about it. As long as you can afford it, buying it now is probably not worth the "potential" money savings. At the best I could see this dropping to $450 but probably no free game. But prices are "supposed" to keep going up so who knows, maybe it will be even more expensive around black friday. Just look at what happened to Nvidia GPU pricing this month, a 5070 going for $700-$800 now and even if black friday came around and dropped those Nvidia prices they would still be well over MSRP.

Also you can enjoy this new GPU for 3 months, theres also a little bit of value in that as well.

Thanks for the reply. Will be waiting and checking to see if I can upgrade my other specs.
It doesn't hurt to get it piecemeal. You can get this card if you are happy with it and the price is okay and then upgrade other parts in a couple years when the price goes down. Just learn about about what uses a lot of processor vs graphics and set your settings accordingly.
A 3600 is a pretty low end processor and going on 7 years now, but it still performs pretty well and most games are graphics focused.

You could sell the 3060 to Newegg with their buy back program and OFF set the difference it might be able 120 to 130.

For general gaming at 1440p in "older" games, Team Red is better bang for your buck IMO in pure rasterization. But it will depend on what you are primarily buying the card for and what you might see yourself playing in the future. I purchased my machine with simracing in mind and potential to play VR at some point, so I went with a 4070 Super purely off of those requirements, but if you don't have any of those requirements where Nvidia is vastly better I think AMD is a great buy

EDIT: I used an RX 6800 for years before upgrading to a 4070 Super and I loved it for what I was playing at the time. Had minor hiccups in some games where AMD didn't seem to be as well-supported but otherwise was very happy with my purchase

9070 GRE is about 20% faster than the 6800 (non-XT) if you look at these two relative performance charts. If you have a good way to reuse/sell the 6800 for a decent ammount then its probably worth it. You can always lower some texture related settings to stay within the 12GB vram limit on the 9070 GRE but you can't really make the 6800 faster to make up that 20%. GPU prices are "supposed" to keep going up.

if you are suggesting to lower texture to keep 9070 gre "fast", why not suggest lower the resolution on the 6800 to keep it "fast"? lol

Still torn between this to upgrade a 6800 (non-XT). The 6800 has more RAM but is quite a bit older. 1440 max resolution.
if your games need more than 12GB VRAM, stick with your rx 6800.

Buy now. Prices are only going up up up, and probably sooner than later.

Definitely true. I had been watching a different card the last few months. A few weeks ago I started noticing a price bump among the several models of the card. 2 weeks ago I saw a good (not great) price on one of the specific models that I had been eyeing and decided to buy it.

Fast forward to today and that same card is $120 more at the cheapest place I can find it and the lower end models have all bumped up again in price.

TLDR -this market sucks but is going to actively get worse. If you're considering something, grab it now.

$500 wouldn't be great if everything else was at MSRP. Just get a 9070 for $50 more at MSRP. The performance and memory would be well worth it but good luck actually finding a 9070 at MSRP. Since the 9070's start at about $650 now this at $500 doesn't look bad.

Anyone know if this is able to run with a 600w PSU? I've currently got a PC with a i5-14400f, nvidia 4060 8gb, can't recall the mobo off hand and a 600w PSU, seems like it's doable but maybe cutting it a bit close?

12GB memory is insulting.
