So, if I choose the Unlimited Essentials monthly plan which show to be $18 per month for me (down from $35 per month) and choose the 24.96 for 24 months payment plan for the phone, what ends up happening? I stay with 2 years of service as I pay for the phone?

If you choose to finance the phone, here is how the math will look on your monthly bill:
You will see a charge of $24.96/mo for the phone financing, but you will also receive a promo credit of $24.96/mo. They cancel each other out perfectly, meaning you pay $0/mo for the device itself. You will only pay your $18/mo (plus taxes) for the Unlimited Essentials service. Just remember that you have to pay the sales tax on the full retail price of the phone upfront at checkout today.

Relevance to the Pixel promo:
Unlimited Essentials does not qualify for the full Pixel 11 Pro XL offer ($300 off + $800 credits + $10/mo service credit). That promo requires Unlimited Premium.
You can still buy the phone and activate on Essentials, but you would lose the bulk of the device credits and the $10 monthly discount.

Just to clear up some confusion here -this is actually incorrect according to the official terms!
You DO NOT need the Unlimited Premium plan to get the $300 upfront discount and the 24-month device credits (like the $800 back for the Pro XL).
The promo terms for the device discount specifically state: "Activate the device on a new full service plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify)." This means cheaper plans like Essentials or Flexible work perfectly fine to get the phone heavily discounted or effectively free.
The ONLY part of the promo that strictly requires the Unlimited Premium plan is the additional $10/month service credit.
So if you buy the phone and activate on Essentials, you still get the massive device credits, you just miss out on that extra $10/mo bonus. Hope this helps everyone!

Nope! Any regular full-service plan (like Essentials or Flexible) works perfectly fine to get the main phone discount and the 24-month device credits.
The Unlimited Premium plan is ONLY required if you want to get that extra $10/mo bonus credit.

This is a pretty incredible deal, you can get 4 free phones and if you choose their 0% finance option you pay nothing up front, and the credits cover the monthly device payments. If I wasn't locked into iPhones and halfway through three 1-year plans, I'd probably be ordering 4 new phones right now. $90/month for 4 on the lowest tier, $160 on the highest (with one year at -$40/month promo)

Yes, you are correct. The difference on Unlimited Premium vs Essentials is that $10/month credit.

I chat with Google FI: Thank you for contacting Google Fi support. My name is Annie, and I will be happy to assist you.

Hello. Could you please clarify, because there is a confusion.
I asked Grok to clarify
Why the earlier confusion existed
Google Fi has multiple overlapping promo-term pages for the Pixel 11 Pro / Pro XL deals:
Some versions (like the one I checked earlier) bundle the $10/mo credit and explicitly require Unlimited Premium for everything.
This version (the one you linked) is cleaner and only covers the device discount + $800 credits, using the broader "full service plan" language.
So, is this a full service plan or Unlimited Premium?
10:22 AM

Thank you for the details.

May I know if you are looking for the plan promotions or device promotion?

Awesome, thanks for taking the time to chat with Fi support and sharing the transcript here!
Google's terms can definitely be a total mess sometimes when they have overlapping promos like this. This is super helpful for anyone looking to jump on the cheaper Essentials plan without worrying about losing the device credits.
Glad we got it 100% cleared up for everyone!

I think you are correct. When I put a Pixel 11 Pro in my cart and went to check out the Unlimited Essentials plan was showing $35 per month not the $18 50% off for 12 months deal. I don't think the deals can be combined.
