Cheapest beef I can find for jerky is 5.99/lb for London Broil or Round Roast. It takes 4 lbs of meat to get a little over 1lb of jerky, so 25$ a pound just for the beef.
I sell mine locally for 20$ per 1/2lb. It's not really a profit venture, just providing friends with jerky when I make some.
