Also, may I ask how you can tell that this item does not requiring a fan-rated electrical box? Our setup is currently not rated for a full-on ceiling on so we would be interested in this for that reason. Thx.

Average weight of a spinning ceiling fan is around 20+ lbs, this one is a lot less.
Most ceiling fans have 5 or 6 blades that could wobble (bearing or other failure) & fall off. This one has a propeller type of fan which would not wobble (in the event of a bearing failure) enough to cause the fan to pull down from the ceiling.
Also, may I ask how you can tell that this item does not requiring a fan-rated electrical box? Our setup is currently not rated for a full-on ceiling on so we would be interested in this for that reason. Thx.

Not every product is tailored to your idea of what it should be, sorry to break it to you. This is not intended to be a 1:1 replacement for a traditional 52" ceiling fan.
This might work well for my office, to replace a light that sits directly above where I usually have my desk chair. I don't need a big fan in there because for 95% of the time the room is occupied, it's just me sitting in that exact spot, and not having to install a ceiling fan bracket would be nice. Artika make some bigger ones in similar styles, at least one of which is available at Costco. I may put one of those in my kitchen because of the particular setup, and the big fan it would replace is overkill and mainly used as a light anyway.
