I hear you but I've never had an issue with cardboard spools. Also this thing can be put into the recycling bin. I have enough reusable plastic ones that I give them away on marketplace.

They absorb moisture. Reusable plastic and refill spools are the way to go.

I never had issues in my AMS 2 with cardboard spools, ever.

I did. The problem is when they arrive slightly warped. That's where the problem happens. Even edge ribs don't completely help.I prefer elegoo to esun basic. Better adhesion. I had 4 kg of esun basic and I'd rather spend an extra $2/kg for better material. It's fine and it works, just not as nice as elegoo or sunlu

I bought some creality hyper pla filaments a while back, the cardboard spools are absolutely atrocious, out of 10 spools I think 4 of them has some kind of dent or bent around the edges. The printer (X2D) has to stop multiple times saying the ams motor is overloaded due to uneveness during feeding and rewinding

I was so fed up with it I then printed a respool tool and then transfer it to a plastic spool.

YMMV, I did not have good experiences with the cardboard spools
