Is this same as Chevron Techon ? which one is better?
I keep Amsoil PI around for those times I'm forced to run non-top tier fuel - but Chat says: (I asked if this is as good as Amsoil PI or Chevron) : Not quite. For actual deposit cleaning, I'd still put AMSOIL P.i. and Chevron Techron Concentrate Plus ahead of that Lucas High Mileage treatment. The important difference is the chemistry. Chevron explicitly says Techron Concentrate Plus uses polyether amine (PEA), which is particularly effective against stubborn injector and combustion-chamber deposits. AMSOIL P.i. is also formulated as a concentrated, aggressive detergent cleaner and has published ASTM/third-party testing showing restored injector flow after treatment.
