Trunk o' Ween is a stupid idea and is ruining Halloween. That being said, I wouldn't mind Driving Croonering around town with this guy hanging out the back of my of my 5-door Sedan.

What if you live in a rural area that's not walkable? A dangerous area in terms of traffic? What if you have small kids under 6? What about kids that aren't able to walk or climb stairs? What if you chilled out?

the whole truck or treat thing is so lame. you have to let kids be kids. walking around and collecting candy from trunks in a parking lot. you should have your parent card taken away

My kids school organizes one the weekend before Hday for K-3 and I think it's a great way for the school community to celebrate and come together. The trunks are usually very creative and engaging for the kids (not just something like this item where you simply collect candy).

Don't be so judgemental man. Sheesh.

Right, we have games and activities, a bake sale, bounce house, etc. to make it about more than just candy for the little ones. We let the older kids run the games so they have something to do and it's something that the parents love.

Same. The 4-5th graders who volunteer get to earn points that their class can redeem for certain prizes. It's really great for everyone involved.

Making kids even more lazy. Half the fun is walking neighborhoods going door to door for the candy.

Halloween is a massive deal in St. Louis.

These negative responses make no sense to me. I have not even heard of a single Trunk or Treat event that actually happens on Halloween night and is intended to replace neighborhood truck or treating, which is what nearly everyone does (including my family).

There are literally hundreds of Trunk or Treat events set up by schools/churches/townships etc. across the StL Metro Area, and I've only seen them scheduled for the weekend(s) before or after Halloween Night.

My kid's school did it the Saturday before Halloween last year and it was a blast - basically a Halloween School Picnic + mini-trick or treating. But I also agree that some people with very young kids may not be able to take them out trick or treating on Halloween night that may start after their bedtime for a bunch of different reasons, and this seems like a great alternative.

We gave out candy for the one at my kid's school the last two years and the vast majority of families go all out decorating their cars.

It was kind of like a Halloween themed tailgate party - the vibe was great.

The kids all love it and were so so psyched to get to trick or treat multiple times and get absurd amounts of candy.

Maybe the culture around Halloween is just different here?

Are there places where

Do these people replying negatively not have kids or literally any experience with these sorts of events or what? Around here, there are literally hundreds of trunk or treats the weekends before or right after Halloween night.

I'm not sure if I've ever even heard of one being held on Halloween night as a Halloween replacement.

Pretty sure all the haters are just old people who can only think of their fondest childhood memory of going house to house, not thinking about what it is like for parents this day and age with little kids that are actually living thru this era of life.
