$4k+ for an 83-inch G4 versus $3k for a 98-inch QM8K isn't a choice; it's an IQ test. The QM series is shaking the market so violently that TCL is now quietly manufacturing the panels for the same legacy brands who used to look down on them.
Sony had to bend the knee to TCL's panel division because they couldn't compete at those price points, and LG is completely outgunned here, too.
Somewhere in the multiverse, there's a version of me who kept that overpriced G4, and he's currently rocking back and forth in a dim room, yet laughing like a hyena to process the buyer's remorse.
QOLED is the modern version of plasma and they deliver an amazing image but they come with a big price tag. Honestly, dollar for dollar OLED or QOLED is hard to justify when systems like the QMLED deliver so much for so much less if you find the right deal.
