How? It's $0.35/W. Seems to be on the low end of panel pricing, for new panels. Nothing beats getting used takeoffs for $20/each though, in the rare situations such shows up near you.

DIY Solar forum. Will Prowse on youtube are fantastic resources. Honestly if your starting out even a small system has big benefits. I'm only powering my AC units with a small system and its already saving me money

Depends on how handy you are, but I found it pretty easy to setup a 3.5kw system, which cut my power bill by 60%, and I am able to use most things without it. You will need a hybrid controller, ideally one that can work on and off grid with or without batteries. This system will need a 18kw box.

$200 per panel shipped is amazing. I'm sure you can't beat that from signature solar or santan right now

Can be very technical but not super hard. It is electricity, so if you are not inclined to work on the wiring in your house, then you might want to hire some one for this too. Victron has a free online solar guide book. And as someone else said, will prouse website and youtube videos.

18kWh? That's a pretty big system, probably sufficient to charge a home and one or two EVs.

Folks, while ~$.30 per KW is great for new panels, this is 18kw! Unless you're powering a mansion, you are almost certainly producing more power with this than can be used in peak daylight hours. (5ton A/C systems pull 4-6kw for example). Thus, to optimize ROI (+benefits of backup) you will almost certainly need battery(s). While there are numerous opinions, I think the prevailing wisdom right now is the Gridboss/Flexboss would be almost a perfect match. I'll leave batteries to your preference - too many options depending on your needs.

And, yes, anything CAN be DIY, but this is a bit akin to deciding to swim in the ocean on your first swimming outing. 18kw+batteries is about as big as most people get. (*MOST* before you start flaming me.) There's serious potential for fire & death with this much current.

Cheers!
