Got myself one of these a couple of weeks ago in black for around $24 through Amazon Resale since they were offering an add'l 20% off at checkout if you bought one in "like new" condition.

It's plays quite well like any other 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless/Bluetooth controller. I already own 5x of them: 2x w/ the Switch button layout and the remaining 3x w/ the XBox button layout. The D-Pad is one of the best in the business and the controller also includes mode switches for the triggers for pressure sensitive button presses which is a nice QoL improvement. Also, the build quality is comparable to first party offerings. Stay tuned to my YouTube channel since I'll be uploading an overview of one of 8BitDo's special edition Ultimate Wireless controllers.

any reason why amazon saying Frequently returned item? Can't find any note regarding that on the site.
Yeah, it's the same reason why I'm skipping this controller. BTW, you can use your Xbox or PlayStation DualSense controllers for Steam; they work perfectly fine.

8BitDo controllers have input lag when paired with the Switch/Switch 2, especially in docked mode and in fighting games. When I buy controllers, I like to use them for all systems.

FYI the circle LED on the home button can't be turned off when in use. The software can control the LED for the rings on the joysticks, but not the home button... I personally find it distracting.

Most likely it has to do with the naming of the two versions of the Ultimate 2 that causes confusion on the differences between the two.
For example the wireless version has 1000 hz polling rate (vs 500 hz on the bluetooth version), and you can easily map the additional 4 buttons however you want within steam app or the 8bitdo software (on the bluetooth version you have to use 3rd party software like JoyToKey to map the additional buttons and even then not all the buttons will work). The bluetooth version on the other hand is the only one of the two that can shake to wake the switch 2 as the wireless version doesn't allow shake to wake on the switch 2. Same goes with the ABXY buttons as they are flipped on the other version which causes more confusion.
Even youtubers have said the naming of the Ultimate 2 causes alot of confusions which triggers a high amount of returns.
8bitdo could just rename the controllers as Ultimate 2PC and 2NS and they would avoid all the confusions and returns but they have chosen not to do so.

How do these compare to Gamesir controllers like the G7
Ultimate 2 is cheaper and you can do more than the G7 Pro lineup, however the G7 Pro has a better app but it's also alot more expensive. The only G7 Pro worth even mentioning are the Wuchang version (has xbox wireless) or the 8K version which has 8K polling rate which is only important if you play competitive games like shooters.

I had to update the firmware on mine to support switch 2.
I love this controller and it's a super value at $50.
