I agree that quality and warranty matter for tools that you'll frequently use and have for a long time. To this day I still have my 1980s USA made Craftsman adjustable wrench collection, and they are is good as new.

Cheap adjustable wrenches are just nut rounders. It's one of the tools I will spend money on. To be fair to the first commentor though I had no idea Wiha was a premium brand. It sounds like Chinese junk.

Right, I read this too. I've just been an HVAC service technician for 20+ years and I've never heard of this brand. If it doesn't have slop I'm sold.

I dont know why people are laughing when anyone mentions wiha quality. I can't speak to their actual tools but their bits are excellent, they harden their steel incredibly well and they hold up much better than most, especially in their smaller size torx bits

I carry a 10" Crescent brand adjustable spud wrench only because HF didn't have one in that size. It hasn't let me down yet. I don't work in a plant covered in grease and oil where it gets naturally lubricated. It's covered in sludge that dries up.

Wiha is a pretty well known german brand. Their driver and bits are pretty good.
The origin of the tools is a crap shoot though. Some are german, some come from asia, some come from other parts of Europe. This adjustable wrench comes from Spain. Spain seems to be the top supplier of good quality adjustable wrenches. I have a channel lock adjustable wrench and it is rebranded from Irega from Spain . It has minimal slop and feels pretty solid. I believe Bahco and Snap On also has their adjustable wrenches from Spain too.

I hear Japanese wrenches have minimal slop too . Companies like Top or Fujiya Kurokokin or Lobtex . Lobtex xdrive looks intriguing though as the company claims it's design offers more contact with the nut.
