No. This is the Windows version. The white model is Windows, the Nebula (purple) model is SteamOS. In the US, both models have a version with the Z2 Go processor (16GB RAM and 512GB SSD) and the Z1 Extreme processor (32GB RAM and 1TB SSD). So there's four types in total.

In the current economy, this is not a bad device for the price. It's about 10% slower than the Z1 Extreme model. But it's much better than the APU in the Steam Deck.
That's largely dependent on the game. Here's an example of Z1E having over 60% more performance than Z2 Go.

I bought mine brand new in January of 2025. Upgraded the battery, the back cover for better cooling and the sticks/dpad. But like you, I've not used it much. Spent more time modding it than gaming on it. 😏😝🀦🏽 ♂️

I always do that. I remember spending hours/days modding my PSP a long time ago. Once I was done, I barely played it.

Modding a gaming device gives you a sense of accomplishment that exists in the real world. You physically change something, solve problems, see the result, and make the device your own. Compared with that, virtual achievements inside a game can start to feel less meaningful.

Get the ROG Ally X on Facebook Marketplace. It has the Z1 Extreme chipset, lighter and better battery life than the Legion Go. Prices range from $550 to $600.

Not out of the box. You can dual boot them.
Sure...but irrelevant to my point. The fact remains that the two statements I quoted were pretty clearly referring to the out-of-the-box capabilities of the device. Hence, mutually exclusive.

Apologies for being a stickler about semantics. I know, I'm an asshole

Yep! That's like with a lot of hobbies. Mod and customize the shiz out of it and never use it. The fun is the hands on experience and accomplishments. It's one of my favorite things to do... But I do try to use my toys... Video games are at the bottom of the list..
