This CONODO player is a very basic budget MP3 player best suited to small offline music libraries and simple use. The deal stands out because the 32GB version is really a 32GB microSD card, and the player can take up to 128GB cards, with Bluetooth 5.3, FM radio, and drag and drop file transfer. The main knocks are flimsy plastic build, confusing navigation, and buggy playback that struggles with some MP3s and converted video files. The screen and FM radio also draw criticism, making it a barebones option if you can live with the limits.

Common Questions (4)

  • The interface is described as cumbersome, with confusing menu navigation and a direction pad that can back out of menus instead of moving down. Build quality and software are also reported as weak, and some units have glitches or failed cards.

  • It has no on-board memory; the 32GB version is effectively a 32GB SD card bundled with the player. The storage is external and expandable up to 128GB microSD, so the advertised capacity is not built into the device itself.

  • It supports FLAC playback, but the player has a 128GB storage limit. That makes it a poor fit for libraries larger than 128GB, even if the format itself is supported.

  • Video playback can be troublesome because downloaded YouTube files may need conversion first and still show as "no file." Playlists are also unclear to set up, and the FM radio is reported as flimsy with poor or no signal.

I feel like if you are the kind of person with over 128GB of music and also enjoys listening to FLAC, this device isn't even worth considering (even if it DID have FLAC support).

I wouldn't get this thing for myself for those reasons but I'm consierding getting it for my 5 year old and loading up all their favorite music on it
That makes sense. I need a device that is compatible with 1tb of microsd card and FLAC and HiFi if possible but I know I am asking too much. Maybe I should make my own device using a raspberry pi lol

Get a moto stylus android phone. They're usually free with 1 month pre paid mobile service. It'll play anything you throw at it. It has a micro SD slot. even has a headphone jack. No DAC but can attach a USB DAC. I paid for Poweramp to play my own ripped and downloaded music.

Bought this erlier this summer. I had 128gb of music on a micro SD card. The interface on this player is cumbersome but at this price point, not a deal breaker. Using this thing and realizing it's limitations helped me discover the HIBY R1. It's $60 on Ali Express and more on Amazon. Much more robust option for a user friendly MP3 player (DAP).

I'm returning mine. Bought it to watch YouTube vids I downloaded, but you have to convert them first. Then, it says there's no file after converting. Very inconvenient and takes so much time. It reminds me of the iPod Chinese knockoffs back in the day. At least those had a metal body. This is plastic.
LOL! Why would you watch anything on something like this? What's the resolution? Just use an old phone with no service.

This is the way and what I was just about to recommend to them (powerAmp included).

Granted a phone with a 6+" screen is a bit large to use as a dedicated MP3 player but many of the good mp3 players don't support SD cards up to 1TB. So it might be their only option

I have gone thru a few cheap MP3 players for running, recommend just getting a smartwatch with music storage. Bad build quality, crappy software.

I have the exact setup you are describing (Motorola powerg) without the DAC for my car. I rip my own CD's legally and stream it using my own services locally, then use tailscale to VPN into my local from the phone using plex but the plexamp app sucks for music. So I thought I would find another solution. I think i should try android apps. Theres gotta be a good one around

The reason the Sansa Clip was great was its excellent flat DAC and decent 1 ohm impedance. I can't imagine this compares, unless there have been reports otherwise.
