I believe the consensus is these are not very good digital audio players. Best to buy something else even if it means spending a little more.

Buying one that supports the installation of the third-party firmware RockBox will go a long way towards improving usability and enjoyment.

I was lucky to buy a one sansa clip+ for $50 last year. I set it up for my daughter to use at summer camp this summer there they can't have screens. They are fantastic mp3 players (almost as good as the Zune safely stored in my junk drawer).
