These Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries stand out for cold weather and other high drain uses, with strong performance called out for freezer sensors, fridge areas, and Nest smoke detectors. The price also looks attractive, especially with Subscribe and Save bringing the 8 pack down to $8.55 with tax in one case. The main caution is compatibility, since several lock brands recommend alkaline batteries instead of lithium because the flat discharge curve can delay low battery warnings or even cause problems. There is also concern about Amazon counterfeit risk and disposal fees for non rechargeable lithium cells, so they fit best where lithium chemistry is actually needed.

  • These lithium AA batteries can work well in freezing temperatures for devices like a freezer temperature sensor.

  • These batteries can be used in cold areas such as fridges where Eneloop may not perform as well.

  • Subscribe & Save can reduce the 8-pack price to about $8.55 including tax.

  • Lithium AA batteries can still provide a low-battery indicator in some doorbell setups.

  • Amazon purchases can carry counterfeit risk, including concerns about packaging differences and inventory co-mingling.

  • Door-lock manufacturers such as Yale and Kwikset recommend against lithium batteries because the voltage profile can prevent accurate low-battery warnings.

  • Lithium AA batteries can fail suddenly without a low-battery warning in some lock systems like Schlage.

  • Lithium AA batteries are non-rechargeable and disposal may involve a local fee.

I was about to pull the trigger, but after reading the thread decided I don't want fake batteries that will suddenly die and make my smoke alarm and door lock useless. Also, I'm just realizing the implication of combining those occurrences and realizing how dangerous this product is.

Are these good to use in Xbox controllers?

Or waste? I seem do go through alkaline batteries every 2-3 weeks.

Maybe I should get rechargeable, but I have so many batteries from SD deals.

Yale specifically recommends against lithium batteries as their chemistry/voltage profile makes the lock unable to give accurate low battery warnings
Schlage as well, had lithiums and somehow fried my board. They replaced it, but suggested ONLY using good Alkalines.

These are from the Energizer store. I would think those at least would be legit.
There is no Energizer store. They are sold by Amazon. Every brand will say you can shop their store but that has nothing to do with who is selling it.

Lowes had a deal to get a 24 pack for the same price the other day. How is this a good deal (and even worse that its upvoted lmao)?

Don't put lithiums in your door lock. Read the paperwork from Schlage or your other manufacturer. They last less time than even old fashioned alkaline batteries.

Lithium batteries that aren't rechargeable? Check your local area as it may be a fee to dispose
