I have bought a total of 3 creality printers on ebay that were open box or refurbished. All three time they not functional. Blob of death with the blob still on the hotend, lead screw not catching on one end, frayed belt causing bed from moving and faulty belt tensioner. All three times i was giving a long list of instructions and none pf them fixed it. I had to buy parts from china wait for them for a month and fiz it myself. I would suggest against refurbed or open box unless you don't mind figuring out issues, buying parts and waiting a month. Then sometimes only to figure out there was another issue and buying more parts. Most of the time i spent enough it parts to just have bought it new. Just my 2 cents.

I have refurbished creality printers all but one printed prefect of the. Box. The one didn't needed work was just a bad printer design. As long as you get creality refurbished from their official ebay you should be good.

For a first Time 3D printer would you recommend elegoo or creality?

Got a refurbished Creality printer from eBay downstairs that works perfect. Had one issue and support was instant and solved the issue with the needed parts basically instantly. No idea about this specific printer but I wouldn't base decisions one one guys good or bad experience, they have plenty of reviews on ebay to read, seems pretty legit.

You didn't ask and I don't matter and should not exist but I've had good luck with Flashforge AD5M. Bambulabs A1 is also well regarded for ease of use but they have been locking down their hardware. Prussia also another one I've heard of that also good.

Unless you absolutely need a printer this very moment I can't imagine why anyone should buy this vs preordering the i8. To be fair I'm no Creality expert but I have watched quite a few reviews on the i8 (sure, paid, but Aurora Tech very much) and that is the future right there for the same exact price. Anyhow, to each their own, just thought I'd mention it!

Agreed with this. It won't be much more money brand new and will have a ton more capability with the quick color changing and limited waste. I might buy one just for multicolor prints and keep my A1 as my daily driver. I assume you will be able to get the i8 within a month or two.

I8 only supports PLA/PETG and can't mix filament with different printing temperatures. It's neat but really limited.

Exactly...why get the i7 when the i8 is almost the same price. In addition, do you really want to buy from a company that obsoletes their offerings every 6 months? I would not buy a Creality printer at this point. Their product life cycle is terrible and their ongoing support is not good. Plus the amount of dead on arrival products seems MUCH higher than the rest of the industry. Anyone can get a dud... I got a dud Bamboo ...but the sheer amount seems excessively high for Creality.

I just got the I7 last week, made a mistake and did not get the combo, can not find the cfs box anywhere, so I will keep playing with the I7, and just a few days ago, I became the 3,000 backer for the I8, Less than 300 for a color changes out of the box, the I7 is great as my first printer, but i really want to do multi color. Now if i can find a deal on the cnc router I got screwed out of , I will be in good shape.

Bruh, how can the i7 print ABS without the custom warping that comes without a heated chamber?
