Something this thin is only smashing down the patty, it's not creating a seared crust on the top. I agree with the other comment that a similarly priced cast iron option is a better addition to your kitchen

It's got good weight too for steak, etc. Not to smash, but to sear after sous vide.
I use it with a cast iron pan as well, which has doubled in cost: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000CF66W
