Corsair makes good keyboards, but man does iCUE suck.

I thought Logitech made bloated peripheral software, but Corsair is worse.

Why does it need a system monitor?

Seconded. The Core keyboards aren't great. The K70 options with branded keyswitches is okay, but those are not competitively priced.

Literally the only brand of keyboard I'll never buy. 5/5 failed within 6 months. Their switches suck. Their support is terrible. I'd skip.

I have a K70 Lux and so does my son. We've been using them for years, but man do corsairs key caps suuuuckk. I bet I've replaced 60% of the keys on both our boards because they just fall apart. Totally unacceptable for a $150 keyboard. The switches are nice and it looks nice, but their software and key caps are butt.

I have the opposite experienced. My M and N double with each press. I might just need to replace the keys?

With me it's the e key. You can try changing the settings in iCue. It helped with my problem. But in the end, I figure it's just not worth the hassle. Just trying to live with the problem until I get a slickdeal on a good keyboard.

Yeah, these suck... I bought a K70 Lux that had a roller volume adjustment (not to the knob type shown here), but it would never work. Skipped from like 1 to 78 to 22 to 99...so aggrevating. Quality wasn't on par with a $100+ keyboard. I went with Royal Kludge's and can't recommend them enough.

Any recommendations on a good mechanical keyboard? Literally all of my mechanical keyboards (logitech and Corsair) have double presses or won't register at all. Only keyboards that never fail me are scissor keys keyboards which I hate for gaming (I do use them for work though).

Yeah everything from corsair does that. I tried updated firmware, RMA replacements, waiting 1.5 years and updating the firmware, and having them swap it with a simpler model. Corsair has zero business making keyboards.

I've used at least 8 different Corsair keyboards over the years including the 2 more recent ones which were K70's with silver switches and all worked fine for me but I hated how loud they were and how limited I was with switch options so in 2024 I started building my own after watching how easy it was from Hipyo Tech on YouTube. My favorite inexpensive build is the Zuoya GMK87 RGB WiFi/Bluetooth/wired keyboard with AKKO Fairy Silent switches, and I upgraded the battery inside with one that has 3x the capacity of the stock one since there is extra room inside. Keyboard frame cost $38 on sale, switches were around $28 for 90, black doubleshot PBT shine through key caps were $7, and upgraded larger battery was $12. Assembly time was around 30mins the first time but now it only takes about 10mins since I've built over a dozen since then. After building a bunch of different options, switch types, keycap types, and seeing how easy it is to make a fully custom keybaord for under $100 each I'd never buy a prebuilt one to use daily again. I've only had 1 of Fairy switch start double-pressing out of the 1000 or so switches I've used so far, but they are hot swappable so it literally takes 10 seconds to pull the bad one and pop in a new one.
