UGREEN's 160W five port GaN charger stands out for stable laptop charging, with the top ports holding power well and the first port delivering at least 65W, while the bottom USB C and USB A share power. It is also compact enough for a 160W brick and includes AVS support, which fits newer iPhone charging needs. The main knocks are its weight, which lands around 12 to 15.5 ounces, and heat buildup when several phones are plugged in. The link also appears to point to a 100W version in some cases, so the exact model needs a careful check.

Anything cheaper than this?
Yes. INIU brand. They make components for Anker, Ugreen and various big manufacturers. Pretty solid chargers (I have 100W one). Also their power banks are good

Exactly.Reset-free adapters are harder to find, but they do exist. There's nothing in the USB PD spec that says it's "supposed to" happen, though it's a topic USB IF could stand to address more clearly.Right now, it's more like a lottery as to how adapters handle these events.
What I've come to realize is that IF the ports have fixed max power (say 30 watts for first 2 usb C ports and then 20 watts each for subsequent ports) then they do not renegotiate.. aka.. turn charging off and on again. AFAIK Anker makes few of them - but at lower specs - between 45 watts and 65 watts. The latter has 2 USB C and one USB A

No sure but the Anker Prime 160W does. I'm waiting for it be on sale as it may be industry best in compactness for delivering 160W (it's smaller than the Anker Prime 140W).

Says 15.5 ounces!! So, almost one pound (lb) !!!
Super heavy. Will use Anker 70W (3 USB C + USB A) instead, weighing 1/3rd of this and $30 at Costco. Also includes 2 USB C cables and a mini 30W charger !!!

Nice, thank you. I'll have a look. So, just to be clear, the first one does not renegotiate power output for the first port (the topmost for a power hungry device) or for the first plugged in device?
My laptops need 65w each and it's been fine. I'm not 100% positive but I believe it's 140w in the first slot when alone, 75w slots one and two when both are used with the last two having 25w each.

Your first link takes you to a 100W version and not 160W. I accidentally hit purhcase on the 100W and now i am trying to get seller to cancel the order. But not very happy, and i should of paid more attention to the link. Others should also be warned, that you will be linked to a 100W version.
I'm not sure what happened when you linked over because I cut and pasted the link from the site and just verified it shows 160w.

Just wait for sometime these fancy chargers will see a price drop . UI display is a main attraction for buyers; otherwise all chargers does the same job few mins here and there .

Expensive
Definitely the no name brands of these 140w pd 3.1 chargers are $20-25 and name brand ones are coming down to $40-60. This is getting up there on the higher end for a charging brick.

I just received one of these. Put it on my scale and it was 12 ounces.

I don't think it is overly bulky for being a 160w charger with 5 ports. This was one of the only chargers I could find that fit my needs: 4 USB-C ports, direct wall plug, and AVS SPR support

Personally I'd pay more to skip the retractable cable. It's less useful and more prone to failure than an additional port and the marginal convenience is negligible (others may disagree).
I don't know if I would pay more to skip the retractable cable, But I would definitely prefer getting a GaN Charger without a Retractable cable, because the more moving parts, the higher your chances of something breaking down. Plus today, when you can get Really Good Quality 100W to 240W cables easily and economically, there is no real need for a Retractable Cable, unless someone is either a total penny-pincher or Lazy AF😜

one of the better power bricks. i bought this to sit beside the bathroom sink. charges my 18 pro max, work phone (iphone 16) apple watch ultra, and portable battery. the top three usb ports don't reset when you plug something in and the top port is always atleast 65W. the bottom usb C port and usb A port share power.

side note, this will not charge your iPhone 18 pro/max at 65W. limited to 45w as it is missing the extended voltage range requirement.

I knew about PPS but not about AVS. Thank you for educating me.
