My guess is the electric motor could potentially spark and ignite gassoline. as well as the potential spark from hooking the motor to a battery.

I own this. Paid a good bit more from Vevor direct about a year ago. It works well. The intake hose is great. The outflow hose is super flimsy. I mean its like comparing a regular garden hose to one of those collapsible ones. It is easy to kink.

I'm tempted to order another unit as backup for if my current one goes bad. I use it to fill my tractor fuel tank. Much easier and cleaner than lifting a 5 gallon tank up to shoulder height.

I use this to take diesel from my generator tanks to fill my tractors and SxS when my auxiliary tank is empty. I would be mindful of how you handle the hoses. They kink very easily but can be mended easily too. I keep and move it in a shallow laundry basket with some rags. I like to bring a long a small jumper/battery pack to run the pump to save a little time from connecting the clamps to the battery around the generator or under the hood of the tractor.
