I own this book in audio and paperback. Lifelong adhd kid who was medicated a lot as a child. Currently raising at least one kid with adhd. I'm against medication if you can tough out life without it.
This book was pretty good at full price, and a no brainer for $2. Has thoughts on medication, but also treatment options without, such as vitamin deficiency and strategies to exist and learn and thrive. You can find most of its info through a few weeks of Google and rabbit holes, or you spend $2 and it's there for you in one place with examples.
The book talks about treatments I've never heard of, like the link between balance and adhd.
If you know someone with ADHD, I say go for it. The book has helpful insights for the normies of the world as well.

Critical reviews after filtering through the BS ones point to either very basic tips and don't waste your money.
Maybe basic tips are what some people need (especially late-diagnosed folks). It wouldn't take a very impactful tip to be worth $2, just sayin'...
I mean, there are hundreds and hundreds of 5-star reviews talking about how helpful it was. I have a hard time imagining the authors just have that many friends willing to buy the book through Amazon and put out a fake rave review over nothing.

I recommend the YouTube channel "How to ADHD". Jessica does a good job presenting strategies in a funny/entertaining way.
This! I also recommend her book. Incredibly accessible but great info so far (I'm on the 3rd chapter at the moment). Also, one thing that's helped me is reading the book + listening to the audiobook at the same time.
Great book for anyone new to ADHD, it will describe you pretty well. Lots of positives with ADHD like almost all all innovators as we are never happy with what we do so we get better and better. Most of us are high performers that other people buy books on to become high performers but it's honestly genetics. We obsses over hobbys and become great at them and fast AF, hyperfocus... I highly suggest anyone who has been diagnosed to get it.
Ps, medications will silence the overthinking and make your hyper focusing a tool you can use to run laps around the normal human. Almost all great artist have ADHD, it's in our nature.
