Is the phone going to be locked? For a merely $100 discount it shouldn't be..
Or if locked - what is the unlock policy or when does it unlock?

I'm still trying to figure out the details of this deal, but I don't think US Mobile even sells iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max. You have to buy an unlocked one from Apple, and they give you $100 off the plan when activating it on their network. I'm not even sure if they verify what kind of device you're activating. The Unlimited Premium comes to $290, which is slightly less than the $299 current promo for all new customers.

Actually it's $130 (including the $30 additional code EE709B2D) plus 1/2 off on Multi-Carrier ($45 discount for annual plan).

I activated the annual plan and the phone is unlocked.

Correct, they don't sell the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max as of yet. You can buy the phone unlocked at Apple using either Pay in Full (still can use their trade in if you want of course) or in Apple Card installments or their new Klarna lease offering. You can't use any Carrier financing though, but sill need to select a carrier for Apple Card financing or Apple/Klarna lease. If you pick T-Mobile the phone will come unlocked. I had no problems going this route.

US Mobile claims they will check to see if you activate the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max after a period of time. So you can activate a new line with another phone and then switch to the 18 Pro/Pro Max upon receipt.

Don't forget the extra $30 offer for new lines. plus the 1/2 off ($45 discount) Multi-Carrier for 1 year.

Also their trade in partner has some good prices, but of course the prices fluctuate as they all do.

They also seem to have a free year (instead of 1/2 off) of the multi-network feature if you already have an account, so if you plan to get Premium Unlimited, it might be better to sign up with the regular promo first even though it's $9 more. Then technically, you have an existing plan, and they should allow you to add the multi-network feature a week later to get it free for an entire year.

If you message their chat agent, you can get the $100 Backmarket code too. I did it last week. I was able to order a non-phone from Backmarket with the code too, so it's pretty useful IMO.
