This one seems to be selling from Walmart? The last deal (same price and specs) was being sold by a 3rd party seller and I bought it -- big mistake. There was a dead (stuck) pixel right in the center of the screen and a noisy fan. The seller didnt care (they said they had no record of my order.. which has to be fraud). And Walmart wasnt able to process my return. I made like 7 different trips to 2 different Walmarts. MSI said they dont care about a single dead pixel and I'd have to pay for that repair but would fix the fan. Just a bad experience. When you're spending like $1600 including taxes, this is not what I was going for.
So that was my experience, just FYI. Just make sure its not a 3rd party seller. I will never buy anything big from Walmart again, at least now I'm hesitant to.

I was looking at this to do some CAD work and 32gb and 1tb were going to be a minimum. At the prices now SODIMM 32gb kits are 400 at least and 1TB drives are pushing north of 100. Here is a better deal for those specs albeit a weaker gpu. Also note the one I'm linking is a bottlenecked GPU to 85W since it's slim. But it's got better screen space, ram, storage. So there are trade offs better for productivity.

For my CAD work 60 series cards are more than sufficient so not everyone may like the big downgrade in performance. Most people don't need more than 16GB atm and the space is sufficient for the time being since there is another NVME slot for future storage drives. Not a bad deal for a desktop replacement.

It's refurbished, a big minus, but with a 6 month warranty. With tax that's ~$270 more, for most people.
I would only consider it if the warranty can be extended for an additional year.

Since that's very unlikely, personally I would avoid buying the refurb model.

In addition, much higher native resolution 2560x1600 on this gaming laptop means much lower frame rates in games.
2560x1600 is even higher than 1440p resolution. (2560x1440)

Lower resolutions on the refurb will result in increased frame rates, but may not look as good as its native resolution.
