I bought the Thermomaven a few months ago on the deal as a backup to my Javelin Pro Duo which I've had for years. JPD is highly rated. Tested both at the same time (Ice bath, boiling water, room temp water) and can say that my TM (and JPD) is very accurate and fast. Actually, eked out the JPD and that cost $43 on Amz.
thermomaven for a couple bucks more
edit: nevermind, I see it

Tried to get the temp on something I was smoking and it took about 30 seconds.
That was the first and only time I used it.
Complete waste of money, even at $5
