I have these lights and use them to work in my garage as well. The tripod is short, keep that in mind so please check the dimensions. But the head pivots well and I find the battery lasts enough for my needs if not on the full 800 lumen setting (claimed 4 hours) the whole time. The lower setting will obviously give you longer run time.
I use 2 to help eliminate shadows on what I am working on. I found 1 was OK, but 2 helps me light up my work area better.
This one is on sale (and was briefly available cheaper in store) since it has been replaced by a 1000 Lumen version which is selling at the original price of $24.99.
The warranty is on Page 3 of the manual linked on the HD website page and is 3 years from the date of purchase. Not lifetime.
This Husky detachable tripod work light is a compact, versatile task light that works well for garages, home renovation, motorcycles, and emergency use. The head pivots well, the light detaches and magnetically attaches, and the tripod is sturdy enough for phones and action cameras. Battery life is described as lasting for hours on lower settings, though the short tripod limits reach and can create glare in larger spaces. A newer 1000 lumen version has replaced this 800 lumen model, and one unit failed after about three weeks.
Campers and outage prep shoppers, because it works well as an emergency light and can be placed around the house during a blackout.
The tripod is short and not very tall, so it works best for close-up tasks rather than broad area lighting. The head pivots well, and the light can still be positioned effectively for garage work, molding, motorcycles, and cramped engine bays.
Battery life can run for hours on the brightest setting, and the claimed full-power runtime is about 4 hours. Lower settings extend runtime further, and it has been used successfully for garage work, power outages, and camping.
This is the older 800-lumen model, and it has been replaced by a 1000-lumen version. The newer model is listed at the original $24.99 price, while this one has been discounted.
Yes, the tripod is sturdy enough to hold action cameras and phones, and it can be used as a selfie stick or 360 camera stick. The light itself is also detachable and magnetically attaches to metal surfaces.
Ate these any good, does anyone have one of these? Is there a lifetime warranty on these as that might make it a good deal as I'm trying to use this in a garage for mechanical work
Not sure about warranty, but these are great. I bought a few last time there was a clearance. The battery lasts hours on the brightest setting, the rotation is really handy, and they're very lightweight even with the tripod. The only thing to keep in mind is that the tripod isn't super tall. Otherwise, they're great.
Would these be good to light up a small soccer field for kids ?
800 lumen isn't much light if you're talking a soccer practice field with no accessory lighting. I'd guess it would be comparable to someone holding a handheld flashlight.
Why is an employee going to bother stealing a $7 worklight?I was following the previous $7 thread and people were saying the same thing "I went to XXX store and nobody could find the 30-ish lights showing in Inventory." I went to the same store 3 days later and found them WAY up in the rafters, 2 aisles over from where the worklights were displayed. The lights could've very well been in the stacks Behind all those other boxes and then I never would've found them. I just lucked out. It's a 'Needle in a Haystack' thing, looking for one small brown cardboard box amongst the 10,000 other boxes. I don't expect the employees to do that.
I think they're implying that the employees move the items within the store, maybe behind other products, so customers can't locate the item, despite the store showing it in inventory, then the employee purchases at the end of shift or a day or 2 later.

Home Depot's inventory counts down in real time. By the time I get home and check the inventory after buying an item like this, the number will have already dropped.
If the employees had Bought them up, the available stock would've showed Zero, not 20.
I know how this works. I'm tracking 4 different items right now that have been on clearance at 50% off. I'm waiting for them to hit 70% and hoping nobody else posts them on a deal site before that. Much like these lights.

That's exactly it, and he proved my point by pointing out he found them stashed way up in the rafters. All the other lights are exactly where they are supposed to be the 1000lm ones and similar Husky ones. but the sale ones have blank shelves all the while inventory tracker is saying theres 20-30 in the store. So the employees hide them and wait to buy them at the discount price, or better yet, until the system rounds them down to that famous penny price.
