I have these lights and use them to work in my garage as well. The tripod is short, keep that in mind so please check the dimensions. But the head pivots well and I find the battery lasts enough for my needs if not on the full 800 lumen setting (claimed 4 hours) the whole time. The lower setting will obviously give you longer run time.
I use 2 to help eliminate shadows on what I am working on. I found 1 was OK, but 2 helps me light up my work area better.
This one is on sale (and was briefly available cheaper in store) since it has been replaced by a 1000 Lumen version which is selling at the original price of $24.99.
The warranty is on Page 3 of the manual linked on the HD website page and is 3 years from the date of purchase. Not lifetime.
This Husky detachable tripod work light is a compact, versatile task light that works well for garages, home renovation, motorcycles, and emergency use. The head pivots well, the light detaches and magnetically attaches, and the tripod is sturdy enough for phones and action cameras. Battery life is described as lasting for hours on lower settings, though the short tripod limits reach and can create glare in larger spaces. A newer 1000 lumen version has replaced this 800 lumen model, and one unit failed after about three weeks.
Campers and outage prep shoppers, because it works well as an emergency light and can be placed around the house during a blackout.
The tripod is short and not very tall, so it works best for close-up tasks rather than broad area lighting. The head pivots well, and the light can still be positioned effectively for garage work, molding, motorcycles, and cramped engine bays.
Battery life can run for hours on the brightest setting, and the claimed full-power runtime is about 4 hours. Lower settings extend runtime further, and it has been used successfully for garage work, power outages, and camping.
This is the older 800-lumen model, and it has been replaced by a 1000-lumen version. The newer model is listed at the original $24.99 price, while this one has been discounted.
Yes, the tripod is sturdy enough to hold action cameras and phones, and it can be used as a selfie stick or 360 camera stick. The light itself is also detachable and magnetically attaches to metal surfaces.
I was just working on a Honda V6 which is cramped between the firewall and motor. This worked great to illuminate that area and the magnets held well.
It has 3 year warranty and is made in Vietnam.
It worked great in complement to the Harbor Freight folding worklight.
Eh dont worry about missing out HD employees grabbed them all...My store was saying there were 20 in stock but none to be found anywhere and the shelves were empty.
Definitely a great light. I bought this two weeks ago for a home renovation project where I am working on moulding along the floor and the ceiling so it's been convenient to point up or down. It actually showed us a slight water stain on the ceiling that we didn't know about-hopefully it's an older one before we re-roofed. It detaches from the stand and can be magnetically attracted to something. My only issue is that twice when I went to turn it on it was dead and I don't think I left it on, but I could be wrong

Happened to me too. For sure the employees stashed the entire box and put the 1000 lumens in its place at my store and couldn't find the right one despite their "best efforts".

I am getting annoyed that stores pull out product and decided to put a display somewhere else in the middle of an aisle. It may be good for spontaneous sales, but not for people go to the store for that specific item.

Why is an employee going to bother stealing a $7 worklight?
I was following the previous $7 thread and people were saying the same thing "I went to XXX store and nobody could find the 30-ish lights showing in Inventory."
I went to the same store 3 days later and found them WAY up in the rafters, 2 aisles over from where the worklights were displayed.
The lights could've very well been in the stacks Behind all those other boxes and then I never would've found them. I just lucked out.
It's a 'Needle in a Haystack' thing, looking for one small brown cardboard box amongst the 10,000 other boxes. I don't expect the employees to do that.
I just ordered this light w/ free ship to house for $14.88 ( Western New York area ). Had 174 in stock to ship to home or to store for free. May be regional for stock on hand.

I got 2 when they were on clearance at my store and ended up picking up 2 more since they were still in stock later in the week. They were super handy when we had a night time power outage a few weeks ago. I put them all across the house so we weren't in the dark.

The light head pivots well and helps illuminate cramped work areas effectively.
The detachable design and magnetic attachment make it convenient for aiming light up or down.
Using multiple units can reduce shadows and improve overall coverage for garage or work sessions.
The tripod can hold phones and action cameras, and it can also function as a selfie or 360 stick.
The tripod is short, which can cause glare and limits how high the light can be positioned.
The 800-lumen brightness may be insufficient for larger outdoor practice areas without additional lighting.
The light can fail quickly, including reports of it dying after about three weeks.
The battery performance may be unreliable for some use cases, including reports of the light being dead when trying to turn it on.

No. The tripod is too short as mentioned by others.
A 800-lumen light is traditionally equivalent to the brightness of a 60-watt incandescent bulb.
