This ACEMAGIC M5 mini PC is a compact Intel Core 5 220H box aimed at light server and everyday multitasking use, with 24GB factory soldered LPDDR5 5200 memory, two M.2 slots, and HDMI 2.0 for triple 4K output. It has been described as quiet in normal use, with only a little fan noise when the CPU ramps up, and it has handled services like Pi hole, Jellyfin, Immich, WireGuard, Plex, and a Project Zomboid server. The main limits are the single USB C port, non upgradable memory, and a warranty claim that was not honored. It looks best suited to compact always on workloads rather than heavy upgrade paths.

Common Questions (4)

  • It can handle home-server tasks such as Pi-hole, Jellyfin, Immich, WireGuard, Plex, and even a Project Zomboid server. It also stays quiet in normal use, though the fan can ramp up under CPU load.

  • The 24GB LPDDR5-5200 memory is factory-soldered and non-upgradable. Storage is more flexible, with two M.2 slots available for expansion.

  • It has only one USB-C port and HDMI 2.0 video output. That makes it workable for a basic setup, but USB-C expansion options are limited.

  • A warranty claim was reportedly denied after the unit failed before the 3-year term ended, with the seller offering only a 10% discount on a replacement. That makes warranty support a risk to factor into the purchase.

Beware they do not honor their warranty. My son bought one two years ago. It stopped working a year and a half ago with a three-year warranty. Their solution was to buy a new one and they will give you 10% off tried contacting through Amazon. Their solution was sorry we can't do anything so buy at your own risk but they don't honor warranties.

Not necessarily this one. Has any used these mini PC's for servers? Specifically house servers with HA VM and maybe a game server container like minecraft or something. My current house server has started to show it's age. It also puts out an insane amount of heat for the room it is in. Anyway, I have been considering a mini PC but I'm not sure it will fit my needs.
I'm currently using a mini pc to host Pihole, Jellyfin, Immich, WireGuard, Project Zomboid server. Works great and is quiet.

OP, please edit the notes at the top to remove "512GB capacity" if the memory is soldered. Surprised to see 5200 speed soldered memory - max now is over 10000. Also surprised to see 2TB max when these CPUs support 8.
I agree. I want this machine you'd recommend for $540. Do you have any links to it?

AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS delivers faster overall benchmark performance and superior power efficiency compared to the Intel Core 5 220H. And it is cheaper... do a SD search on Mini PC's

I feel you there. Just be prepared to wait until 2028 or longer, unless we have a deep recession/depression. And expect a "reasonable price" to keep climbing. So a good price for this might be not be $349 like it was. Expect it to be $425 or $450. And this spec might also be $700 in 2-3 years. It's crazy and sad.

I use a mini pc with an n150 running immich and for backups. It doesn't get hot enough to warm up a room.

I'd hope not - Intel N150 is like 6 watts of power! Built to be ultra power efficient but still has intel quick sync for plex/jellyfin. Great option for relatively lightweight builds.

These kinda killed raspberry pi. Much more power and capability but similar power efficiency and cost
