Bit of a thematic stretch for this brand. What do ice cream makers have to do with a company that makes ceramic non-stick frying pans? Were PFAS in my ice cream maker a thing that needed addressing?

We have this and it is great for soft serve, margaritas, and slushies. Only problem is the bowl keeps cracking. This has happened twice and both times customer service has been great and sent replacements. But I fear what will happen when warranty runs out after a year. So if you can, recommend buying an extended warranty.

The GreenPan Frost scores about 68 out of 100 as a product and closer to 76 if you only look at the $171 coupon price: it is the cheapest way to get on-demand soft serve and slushies from one machine with no pre-freezing, but it is not the best machine in the category.

Ranking against competitors is dragged down by a well-known cracking mixing bowl, messy cleanup, and a bulky footprint, while Ninja Creami around $170–$207 is the more reliable everyday pick, Scoop & Swirl around $280–$350 is the closer soft-serve rival if you accept a 24-hour freeze, and a Ninja Slushi or Cuisinart ICE-100 is the better choice if you mainly want drinks or traditional scooped ice cream.

Green Pan is not a real brand, it was bought out by Private Equity in 2021 so they're in the process of trying to squeeze every bit of profitability out of it. Of course it was always junk made in China with a big marketing budget, which I imagine is the same case here.
